The Furminator will be your favorite shedding tool

Product review of the Furminator.

Do you have the Furminator for your dog? Go try it on your horse when he starts shedding! I’ve got one from back when they first came out with their horse version. At that time the horse version was the same as the dog version just twice as big. Looking at what they sell now, it’s the same as their large dog version. Anyway, I was out yesterday brushing the shedding angry pony, Pogo, and thought to myself, this is the best tool ever! It just drags all that shedding hair right out and is easy to clean out and swipe again.

Is your horse’s skin sensitive? This probably isn’t the tool for them. We have a thoroughbred that does not like this tool. But every other horse on the property doesn’t mind it at all.

Do I need to get the Furminator made for horses? No. Honestly, I’ve only found the horse version on eBay and one small seller on Amazon.com this week. Plus, the price looks way too high! The large dog one will work just fine. You could even use the regular dog size Furminator but it’s going to take you a lot longer to go over the entire horse.

Is Furminator the only brand out there? No, there are other brands. I cannot speak to their quality. But I do know other off brands have popped up on the market and there are plenty to pick from. Get the Furminator, I’ve had mine for so many years the logo has worn off. A couple of tines have even bent. But, it still does an awesome job!
