Know Better To Do Better – Denny Emerson

I can guarantee you that any good horseman or woman has made a few mistakes in their time. Admitting to it is another story. Denny Emerson’s book ‘Know Better To Do Better‘ highlights the mistakes Denny learned from. Denny will show you what he did and then tell you what he would have done differently. ‘Know Better To Do Better’ is both entertaining and an instruction manual for your own journey.

“When a good rider applies an aid, that rider does not “mumble.”

– Denny Emerson

You may pick up this book and think you are getting a shortcut to great horsemanship. If that is the case, it will disappoint you. A key theme in the book is that it’s going to take a lot of time and hard work if you want to be one of the best. But if you are lacking in talent, you will be happy to read that effort is just as important as natural talent, and often those that are willing to put in the time go farther.

You don’t need a desire to be a top rider to enjoy this book and get a lot out of it. The book is about being your best horse person. Doing what is right by the horse and enjoying the journey.

I have never read any book about riding that talks about ‘pestering’ a horse. They always use the Terms like ‘apply the aids,’ as if the horse will magically understand what the heck that means.”

– Denny Emerson

The stories Denny shares about his adventures and experiences really bring the book to life and you will find yourself reading cover to cover within no time. Don’t pass this one by! Check the book out here on Amazon.
